No it's not the band.. it's P-O-L-I-C-E, to recover well!

POLICE is a great little acronym to help us train through minor injuries. The recommendation is to train wherever possible (without harm) so that we can get back to pre-injury activity sooner.

The same is recommended before surgery - take some time to re-build function in the injured site before going under the knife to have a shorter post-op recovery.
