Injury prevention warm up

Rugby union has a lot of cash - therefore they do a lot of research! Here is a study looking at an injury prevention warm up.

Results:

  • Injury prevention programme resulted in beneficial reductions in lower-limb injuries and concussion.

  • The higher the consistency, the greater reduction in injury incidence.

Injury prevention exercises included:

  • Lunge and reach

  • Heel to toe walk with knee hug

  • Single leg balance with eyes closed

  • Isometric shoulder abduction

  • Bent hip Nordic curl

  • Ankle pogos

  • Double hop and stop

  • Push-up plus variant

  • Shoulder walkouts

Great to see a few of the ones we use in our own training in this mix!
