Injury prevention warm up
Rugby union has a lot of cash - therefore they do a lot of research! Here is a study looking at an injury prevention warm up.
Results:
Injury prevention programme resulted in beneficial reductions in lower-limb injuries and concussion.
The higher the consistency, the greater reduction in injury incidence.
Injury prevention exercises included:
Lunge and reach
Heel to toe walk with knee hug
Single leg balance with eyes closed
Isometric shoulder abduction
Bent hip Nordic curl
Ankle pogos
Double hop and stop
Push-up plus variant
Shoulder walkouts
